Bill On The Road

The Museum Of Transportation in Saint Louis, Missouri has the train car that Harry Truman used while he was both a Senator and President of the United States.  It was state of the art at the time, with air conditioning and a public address system.

Truman was known for using trains, especially before he became President.  As a Senator and Vice President he would travel from his home town in Missouri to Washington DC by train.

The car was completely refurbished during a 4 year period by volunteers.  Visitors to the Museum of transportation can peek in the windows and see the incredible transformation.

While you can’t go inside anymore — they did let Bill take a tour to show off the incredible piece of history for this week’s episode.
