It wouldn’t be Halloween without talking about haunted homes in America. There are plenty to choose from. Here are 5 of my favorite haunted homes.
Winchester Mystery House
Official Website: winchestermysteryhouse.com
Sarah Winchester ordered construction crews to build around the clock after learning that the sound of hammers would keep evil spirits away. That’s one of the stories surrounding the mansion. Inside you’ll find staircases to nowhere, doors that open with nowhere to go and other bizarre features. It’s open for tours in San Jose, California.
Lemp Mansion
Official Website:Â lempmansion.com
The once thriving St. Louis brewery went downhill in a hurry after the son of William Lent died mysteriously and wound up on the auction block shortly after prohibition.  It is said to be one of the most haunted homes in America.
Lizzie Bordon House
Official Website: lizzieborden.com
The home where Lizzie Bordon supposedly killed both her father and stepmother with an ax is now a bed and breakfast.
Amityville House
This is a private residence and not open for tours. Previous owners say they’ve seen a pig-like creature running through the house and even slime coming out of the walls.
The White House
The most spotted ghost inside The White House? Abe Lincoln. President Reagan once told a reporter: “My dog will go into any room in The White House – with the exception of the Lincoln Bedroom”
